Born in Kigali and now based in Québec, Chiwio blends his Rwandan roots with local culture. His music draws from folk, hip-hop, and African influences. He sings in French, English, and Kinyarwanda, with lyrics that are both poetic and socially conscious. He explores exile, identity, and inequality. After Loyal to the Soil and La Bête du Fleuve, he released Vtraptones in 2024, an EP about life in underprivileged neighborhoods. Chiwio is a rising voice with a strong sense of self and purpose.
